   There are monthly, weekly and bi-weekly competitions. Register for free. With prizes, e.g. 1 year subscription of online photo gallery.
   
   
2. DPChallenge, a digital photography contest.
   Weekly contests, sometimes 24-hour contests. Register for free or as a member. Open contest for free members and member constes for pay members. No prize, only ribbons of achievements. Most members are US-based photographers.

   Photo series of many themes. Submission by prints/slides. Prizes are travel trips depending on the themes. There is submission fee.
   
   
6. National Geographic Traveller annual photo contest
   Up to 4 pictures. Submission by prints. Prizes are trip to Guatemala, Ireland and Maine. No fees.
   
   
7. Panasonic Batteries photo award
   Any pictures for amateur photographers. Only valid for resident of EEA countries. Each month is prized with small bag. Annual prizes are trip to Namibia and some cameras. No submission fees.
   
   
8. Lumix Award 2005 "Everyday Adventures"
   Single or multiple images to tell a story about everyday adventures. No submission fees. Monthly prizes are Lumix camera. Grand prize is a trip.
   
   
9. BBC Photographer of the Year 2005
   In many themes. Money prices.
