Photography Sites
These are my favourite websites to learn about photography.
[This list will always be updated.]
- Luminous Landscape: grouped in the understanding series, tutorials, techniques and others.
- Photo.net: galleries, critiques, community, forums about Canon, Nikon, nature, equipment, etc., tutorials and most of respectable photographers are members there. You can always find something interesting about tips, tricks and gadget reviews over there.
- PhotographyBlog: a blog mostly on photography equipments and gadgets, weekly and monthly competitions. It has an RSS feature for the most current things in photography around the world.
- Cambridge in Colour: a great gallery of Sean McHugh, complete with tutorials and techniques.
- NikonNet: all about Nikonian, incl. articles, tutorials and the Legends Behind The Lens site.
- Canon Digital Learning: tutorial on Rebel XT/350D, Canon camera museum and Explorers of Light gallery.
- Boo's tutorial who loves his 300D with the remarkably sharp, but cheap, lens EF 50mm f/1.8 II.
- Petteri's Pontification's blog. Some uncommon reviews, lessons and how to's. My favourite is how he explains how to clean your sensor. It's very intuitive.
- DPChallenge is actually a weekly photographic competition, but it offers much more than that. My favourites are the How'd They Do That? forum and the DPC Mentorship sessions in the Out and About forum.
- DCMag, the practical guide to the digital photography. A UK-based portal for forum, reviews, techniques and competitions.
- Rob Galbraith's digital photography insights offers many stories, reviews, up-to-date events and forums.
- Manfrotto's online learning site, esp. related to tripod photography.
- Photozone.de, a very nice technical explanations of cameras and lenses.
- The Light's Right Studio, full of tips on digital darkroom. Some PS CS2 actions.
- Black & white for digital photography
